One of the unusual and mysterious research in medicine today is the immunogram. What is it and what is it eaten with?

Today, in all hospitals, district doctors with enviable constancy advise us to check the immune system and make an immunogram. One gets the feeling that this procedure is akin to removing spoilage. Of course, being excellent and diligent patients, we go to the next doctor's office, donate 20 milliliters of our own blood, which is then sent to the laboratory for analysis. However, what happens next? What's the point of all this?

How can you "measure" your immunity?

Even in high school, we are taught about the structure of the immune system, although in reality it is still not fully understood. In general, its task is to fight against all foreign bodies that enter our body. There are two types of immunity: humoral and cellular. Cellular immunity is called immunity, in which leukocytes are involved. These substances actually devour all microbes and viruses. Humoral is immunity, in which the protective function is performed by proteins - immunoglobulins. Of course, with the help of an immunogram, you can study both types of immunity, however, it will bring real benefits only in certain diseases.

In what case is an immunogram prescribed?

In general, this procedure includes two main steps. The first is routine blood donation, which is prescribed for many patients with a variety of diseases. The second stage is a much deeper and more detailed consideration of all parameters of immunity. Only some patients are subjected to the second stage of the study, for example: often suffer from pneumonia; prone to frequent inflammatory diseases; constantly carry infectious diseases of the stomach; suffer from pustular skin diseases; finally, the nature of the diseases of which is viral.

So, it is very important to note that an immunogram is really necessary when it comes to any prolonged infectious disease accompanied by a significant increase in temperature, as well as a variety of secondary diseases.

Is immunograms necessary for infections of the reproductive system?

As for patients who suffer from sexually transmitted diseases, their immune system, as a rule, is not subject to any major changes. Thus, the fact is once again proved that anyone, even the most healthy person, can become infected with them. However, some experts believe that if you have any urogenital infection, you still need to check your immune system.

What if I just get colds often?

During persistent colds, a variety of parts of the entire immune system. Of course, if you constantly have the flu, it makes sense to do an immunogram. In this case, it will be clear where in your immune system there is a gap, and the doctor can prescribe drugs that will close it.

How can you prepare for an immunogram?

To do this, you must refuse breakfast, as blood is taken from a vein. Of course, you need to do this on an empty stomach.

Do I need to examine the child's immune system?

If there are indications that we talked about earlier, it is, of course, necessary to make an immunogram. It should be borne in mind that the human immune system is fully formed only by the age of 5. Thus, the analyzes of an adult and a small child will, of course, be slightly different from each other. That is why it is extremely important that the child's immunogram was examined by an experienced, highly qualified doctor who can really figure out whether the child has serious disorders or is it just age-related changes in the body.
