If we talk about the properties of the juice, then even in terms of the content of ascorbic acid, that is, vitamin C, it far surpasses the recognized champions in this area - the juices of lemons and oranges. Viburnum juice, although somewhat bitter in taste due to the high content of tannins, is also rich in other vitamins and minerals: it contains all of us so necessary iodine, as well as calcium, magnesium, iron and copper. The juice contains beta-carotene and a large amount of vitamins A, E and P, which are responsible for the good condition of the skin and vision. In addition, viburnum juice is rich in organic acids, glycosides, natural pectins and natural sugars, which help people to remove the effects of chemical and radiation poisoning from the body.

Such a unique and universal combination of natural nutrients has determined not only the antimicrobial, choleretic, wound healing and anti-allergenic properties of the healing liquid, but also the anticarcinogenic effect, which is now successfully used to prevent cancer of the digestive organs.

Juicing

There are several options for making juices:

  1. You can use a juicer for a clean, fresh, healing drink. The liquid obtained with its help is enough to pour into washed glass bottles and store in the refrigerator. The drink, due to its saturation with antimicrobial and bactericidal substances, does not even need to be pasteurized or sugar added to it for preservation. The resulting bright orange liquid can be combined with other foods and drinks to add color and health benefits.
  2. To prepare viburnum juice with pulp, washed berries should be blanched in boiling water for about 5 minutes, which removes excess bitterness, and then rub the mass through a sieve and mix the resulting puree with concentrated sugar syrup in a 1: 1 ratio. You can use honey instead of sugar, in this way the beneficial properties of viburnum will be supplemented with the healing power of honey, while the proportion of ingredients remains the same. You can also remove bitterness from berries by pre-freezing them.
  3. The standard version, which was still used by our ancestors, provides for the following scheme: about 1 kg of berries must be washed, put in a container and pour 200 ml of boiling water. Let stand for about five minutes, drain the water, and knead the berries with a wooden spoon and squeeze through cheesecloth. Boil the remaining cake in a little water, strain and pour into the drink. Add 200 g of honey per 1 kg of berries. In the resulting juice, the beneficial qualities of viburnum are complemented by the healing properties of honey, which greatly increases the value of the drink, which can be stored in the refrigerator after cooling. This elixir is especially good for disorders of the digestive system and for colds. They put it in tea, make marshmallow and jelly from it, boil jelly.
