I graduated from high school in 2017 (11th grade). In 2019 I want to enter, I will take literature, society, Russian language and basic mathematics. In 2017, I only took Russian and Maths, i.e. turns out, I'll retake them. I wanted to know what I need to do to write all these exams, just apply before February 1st? I recently remembered that at school we wrote some kind of essay in Russian so that we would be allowed to take the exam, if I didn’t dream. Will I no longer need to write it?

If you believe official statements and information that is already gradually emerging on the procedure for conducting the Unified State Exam in 2017, the basic principles for conducting the Unified State Examination, introduced by Vasilyeva's predecessors, will remain in force next spring. In particular, it will still be possible to take mathematics at the basic and profile levels, and the oral part will remain in the USE in English. The exam, as before, will be held in three “waves” - from March 14 to April 7 (preliminary), from May 29 to June 30 (main) and from September 4 to 15 (reserve for retaking the exam in Russian and the basic level mathematics). 11th graders will have to choose exams for the main wave before February 1. For graduates of previous years and a number of other categories of those wishing to take the exam, this period is much longer - they can finally decide 2 weeks before the exam.
Technical changes in the exam procedure in 2017 will affect three subjects: biology, physics, chemistry. So, test tasks with a choice of answers will disappear from the control and measuring materials in these subjects, and the number of tasks in KIMs about biology and chemistry will slightly decrease (instead of 40 tasks that graduates of 2016 pored over, chemists will be offered 34 questions, biologists - 28). At the same time, the time for the biology exam will increase by half an hour - from 180 to 210 minutes. The procedure for passing exams in other subjects will not change.
The essay that has already become familiar, which Russian schoolchildren will write in early December for the third year in a row, will not disappear anywhere. It will continue to be assessed according to the "pass-fail" system. Universities, like last year, will be able to “convert” its results into additional points at their own discretion.
It should be noted that radical innovations in the USE procedure in 2017 are not yet expected. At the moment, the Ministry of Education and Science is not only cautious with its own initiatives, but is also in no hurry to continue and develop what its predecessors started. For example, the third mandatory exam (it was supposed to be English) will not appear yet, and the department is in no hurry with the oral part in other subjects. So far, it is assumed that the oral part of the Russian language exam will appear in 2018. This will happen if in 2017 this mechanism is successfully tested in some regions, where ninth grade graduates will be offered to take the exam in this format.
The only, but quite tangible, radical innovation of the 2017 admission and graduation campaign may be the so-called all-Russian screening work. This is an analogue of the traditional, but rather forgotten annual control, which will be held in subjects that are not mandatory for passing the Unified State Exam. In the spring of the coming year, schoolchildren will be tested in physics (April 25), chemistry (April 27), biology (May 11), geography (May 16) and history (May 18). It is expected that the tasks, as in the case of the Unified State Examination, will be the same for the whole country. True, there is no information about how the authorities intend to deal with the inevitable “mutual assistance” in social networks associated with a large number of time zones (when the exam ends in the Far East, it will not start in Moscow yet), and whether those caught cheating will be punished yet . Note that neither the admission to the exam, nor the assessment of its result, the test work will not affect. As conceived by the authors of the idea, they are needed solely to assess the level of knowledge and, accordingly, the effectiveness of the educational process in a particular school.
The 2018-2019 academic year has just begun, which means that for eleventh graders it’s time to find out how the most “terrible” test of their whole life, the Unified State Examination, will pass. Compulsory subjects for passing the exam in 2019
In recent years, rumors have been constantly circulating about expanding the list of required subjects for passing the exam, so it would be useful to recall which subjects are required in 2019 and which are not.
In fact, compared to many previous years, there will be no changes in 2019, and there are two compulsory subjects for the exam:
- Russian language,
- mathematics.
The only change that came into force relatively recently is that the graduate needs to decide which exam in mathematics he will take - the basic level of complexity or the specialized, more complex version.
The innovation, according to which mathematics was divided into two levels of complexity, is more than justified. For some graduates, basic knowledge of the secondary school program will be quite enough, and subsequently, deep knowledge of mathematics will not be useful to them in their studies. At the same time, for others, mathematics is one of the foundations of their future specialty, deep knowledge is required at the university they have chosen, and the depth of knowledge on more serious requirements can be checked at a profile exam.
By the way, the graduate has the right to take both versions of the exam in mathematics, if he so desires.
In principle, these two exams are enough to get a certificate of completion of eleven classes. All other exams are the choice of the student himself, and you can pass any number of them. Recall that in addition to the mandatory exams in 2019, you can take the exam in the following subjects to choose from:
- biology,
- geography,
- foreign languages (English, German, French and Spanish),
- informatics and information and communication technologies (ICT),
- story,
- literature,
- social science,
- physics,
- chemistry.
It is clear that eleventh-graders take the choice of those exams, the results of which will be required for admission to the university of their choice for the chosen specialty.

How many years are the results of the exam valid
USE results are valid for four years. Thus, those who pass the exam in 2019 will be able to manage their results until 2023. And, accordingly, in 2019 it will not be too late to submit your results of the unified state exams for admission to the university for those who passed the USE in 2015 or later.
As for those who pass the exam in 2019 and receive a score below the minimum required, the retake dates depend on which exam is failed. If this is one of the compulsory subjects, it will be possible to retake the exam in September 2019. If this is one of the elective exams, then not earlier than in 2020.
When will the exam schedule for 2019 be announced?
The official USE schedule for 2019 should appear at the beginning of the calendar year. Usually the order of the Ministry of Education and Science appears in early January. For example, in 2017, this order was issued on January 9, the first working day of the year. Up to this point, work is underway on the USE schedule, and it is also considered not entirely appropriate to publish the schedule, even if it is ready earlier.

How to pass the exam to a graduate of past years in 2019
Those who passed the USE before 2015 and whose results are invalid, those who want to get a higher score in a particular subject than they received in 2015 or later, as well as those who graduated from school before the era of unified state exams, are allowed if necessary, pass the exam together with the graduates of the current year.
In order to pass the exam to a graduate of previous years in 2019, you must first of all prepare for the exam, as well as notify the local education department of your desire. You will need to write an application, indicate those subjects for which you want to pass the exam, present a passport and a certificate of education.
Since a graduate of previous years already has a certificate of education, he does not need to write a final essay or take compulsory subjects.
