Let us remember that about interesting position Maria Butyrskaya became aware of this in February of this year. Then the athlete, who became a guest of the international award of the glossy magazine Marie Claire Prix d'Excellence de la Beauté, came out with a rounded belly. Maria smiled joyfully and happily posed for photographers.

Maria was dressed in a cream-colored dress with a cape, and Vadim chose a formal dark blue suit.

She started skating at the age of five.

Butyrskaya’s first coaches considered her unpromising and kicked her out of CSKA.

In 1991, she began training with Viktor Kudryavtsev, with whose help she developed her skating technique. Then she switched to the famous coach Elena Tchaikovskaya, under whose leadership she achieved success. She was distinguished by her ballet style and frequent use of classical music in her repertoire.

At the 1999 World Championships, Maria won a gold medal, completing the final chord of Russia's triumph at this competition (four gold medals out of four), and becoming the first world champion in the history of post-Soviet Russia. In the same season, Butyrskaya became second in the 1998-1999 Grand Prix final, ahead of Tatyana Malinina from Uzbekistan.
She completed her sports career in 2003. Since then he has been working as a coach, mainly with young children.

Vadim KHOMITSKY(July 21, 1982, Voskresensk) - Russian hockey player, defenseman. Resurrection hockey student. Currently he is a player for Ak Bars Kazan, playing in the KHL.

Vadim Khomitsky began his professional career in 1999 as part of his native Voskresensk Khimik. IN next year At the NHL draft, he was selected in the 4th round, 123rd overall, by the Dallas Stars. Afterwards he became a player of the HC CSKA club that existed at that time. In 2002, after the disbandment of this club, Vadim joined the united Moscow CSKA. In 2006, Khomitsky went to North America, however, in the same season he returned to Russia, signing a contract with Khimik Mytishchi.

The next year, Vadim decided to repeat his attempt to gain a foothold overseas. However, as the season progressed, he returned to his homeland again. From 2008 to 2011, Khomitsky was a player at Atlant near Moscow. On May 6, 2011, Vadim signed a two-year contract with Ak Bars Kazan.

As part of the Russian national team, Vadim Khomitsky took part in the 2006 World Championship. Vadim was also called up to the national team to participate in Euro Hockey Tour matches.

Before they met, hockey player Khomitsky and figure skater Butyrskaya knew practically nothing about each other. When they met in one of the capital's restaurants in a circle of mutual friends, Vadim fell in love with Masha at first sight. She didn't take him seriously for a long time. At that moment I was completely disappointed in men. Plus, she was embarrassed by the age difference. Maria is ten years older than Vadim.

Dinara KAFISKINA

This fact really bothered me. I was wondering if I should get involved with the boy. I assumed that I could become entertainment for him only for a while. No more than that,” says Butyrskaya. “In general, I. I couldn’t understand what he saw in me at our first meeting. I just returned from a long tour of Korea. I had not yet had time to acclimatize and was sitting in the restaurant then, barely alive.

- How did your relationship develop?

Vadim was persistent. That evening he did everything he could to get my phone number and invited me to dinner the next day. This is how our communication began. But I tried to behave with restraint. However, Vadim was not stopped by my indifference. Vice versa. And when I left for South Africa, he literally started bombarding me with SMS. We communicated virtually for quite a long time. And when I returned, our first date took place. At every meeting, Vadim melted my heart.

- How did he do it? How did he look after you?

Very beautiful. He gave beautiful bouquets of flowers and showered them with gifts. But most importantly, after some time I felt that Vadim was a reliable, devoted, caring, and kind person. In general, the initial mistrust and all my doubts about his intentions disappeared. Let’s say he passed the test of strength (smiles). When my beloved left to play in America, they had to be separated for eight whole months. We simply couldn’t part ways for such a long time. We decided to get married. This happened a year after we met.

- Why didn’t we go overseas together?

I have my own figure skating school in Moscow. I couldn't leave my girls - students. Vadim, of course, understood this. We are both athletes. There was no need to explain anything here. Although we knew practically nothing about each other before. Vadim only heard my last name. Only then did he study all my titles. I didn't know anything about him at all. Before we met, I had only been to hockey a couple of times.

- But after you became husband and wife, you could be seen at every match with Vadim’s participation.

I became an ardent fan (smiles). Despite being busy, I really tried not to miss Atlanta games when my husband played in Mytishchi. But now my beloved plays for Ak Bars. We have to live in two cities. We decided so. The reason is the same. I cannot quit my job, my students - future champions. Moreover, our two-year-old daughter Sashenka stayed with me in Moscow, and Vadim took our four-year-old son Vladik with him to Kazan. At the first opportunity, of course, we fly to each other. We miss each other terribly. But what can you do, such is sports life. And our feelings become even stronger at a distance.

Many hockey fans will remember Khomitsky. His path was very complex and interesting. He failed at many things, but he never gave up. This Russian defender played over 700 hockey matches in the league. In addition, he played for the national team and also tried his hand overseas. However, he failed to gain a foothold.

Biography of the athlete

Vadim Khomitsky was born in 1982 in the city of Voskresensk. He studied hockey at a local hockey school, which is known throughout the country. It gave the planet's leading leagues many strong players. In 1999, Vadim Khomitsky began his professional career in the local club Khimik, which played in the major league. At first it was difficult for him to readjust and adapt to adult game. Often the coaching staff included Vadim in the second team. Playing for the reserve team in the first league, Vadim Khomitsky gained confidence in his abilities.

At Khimik, the athlete, being a promising defender at that time, did not receive the necessary playing time in the major league. It was because of this that he decided to change the club and moved to the HC CSKA team that existed at that time. In 2002, this club was disbanded, and Vadim rewrote the contract with the united Moscow CSKA. Having played in the strongest league of the Russian championship, Khomitsky felt that he had improved in his game. He decided to try his hand at the NHL. But overseas he failed to open up, and in the same season he returned to his native club “Khimik”.

Homecoming

The following year, Vadim Khomitsky again decided to try himself in the NHL. But the second attempt was unsuccessful. The same year he returned to his homeland again. In 2008, the hockey player began playing for the Atlant club near Moscow. And in 2011, he signed a two-year contract with one of the leaders of the domestic championship - Kazan Ak-Bars.

As soon as the agreement ended, Vadim Khomitsky, a hockey player whom many knew, moved to the Torpedo club. A year later, due to poor statistical indicators and bad game in general, Vadim, as a result of the exchange, joined the ranks of the Omsk Avangard. For him, Torpedo received two young hockey players and monetary compensation. Currently, Khomitsky has signed a contract with a team from the city of Sochi. She speaks out. The contract with this defender was signed for one year. Perhaps it will be the last of his career.

International career

Vadim Khomitsky is a hockey player who has been called up by his country many times to play on the national team. Despite the fact that he was not able to participate in the most prestigious international tournament - the Olympic Games, he was still valued in the team. In 2006, Khomitsky went to the World Championships as part of the Russian team. It took place in Latvia. There Vadim played seven games and made 3 assists. At this championship, our team played good hockey, but it failed to get into the top three winners. In addition, Vadim took part in the Euro Hockey Tour, where he and his team achieved high results.

Personal life

Vadim Khomitsky already for a long time married. His chosen one is also from the sports world. Maria Butyrskaya is a famous Russian figure skater. She was the first in our country to win the world championship in women's single skating. In addition, Maria won the European Championship three times and the Russian Championship six times. At first, the famous figure skater did not take Vadim seriously. The reason for this was the significant age difference. Maria is 10 years older than her husband. But over time, she realized the seriousness of his intentions and accepted his advances.

And Vadim Khomitsky got married in 2006. Already in 2007, this couple had a son, Vladislav, and in 2009, a daughter, Alexandra, appeared. Now the famous Russian figure skater is engaged in coaching. In Moscow she has her own popular school, which educates a new generation of figure skaters. When Vadim went to play overseas, Maria had to stay in Moscow and look after the school. And on weekends, at the first opportunity, she went with the child to her husband. It’s not often that you come across such a beautiful couple as Maria Butyrskaya and Vadim Khomitsky, whose photos can be seen below.

Career overseas

At the beginning of his career, the Dallas Stars team, playing in the NHL, became interested in Vadim and selected him in the fourth round of the draft, 123rd overall. He tried twice to gain a foothold in the strongest league in the world, but he didn’t succeed. Khomitsky lost money because of these attempts. But he really wanted to prove to himself that he was capable of playing at such high level. For the first time, this defender was signed to a two-way contract. He didn’t make it to the main team during the season, and he didn’t intend to play in the AHL, so he returned to Russia.

On his second visit, he was offered a one-way contract, and he had to play a full season. But the club was dissatisfied with his work again, and Vadim had to leave for his homeland. He never tried to conquer the NHL again.

Best friend in sports

While in Dallas, Vadim became close friends with the famous Russian hockey player. He is the leader of this hockey team. Sergei tried his best to support Vadim on the ice and in the locker room. He did not advise Khomitsky to leave the team for the first time. He said that, despite a two-way contract, Vadim would be allowed to play many games as a starter. Zubov was the only Russian on the team. Considering that Vadim did not know at that time in English Apart from him, he couldn’t talk to anyone else. Zubov translated the coach’s instructions and some advice from his partners for Khomitsky. Despite his failures in the NHL, Khomitsky still communicates with his friend.

Vadim Khomitsky, whose biography is very eventful, always continued to move forward and achieve his goals. He was not allowed to realize himself overseas. After the first failure, he found the strength to try a second time, but returned to the Russian championship again. They traded him and refused to renew his contract. Despite all these unpleasant situations, Vadim went down in the history of Russian hockey as an outstanding defender.

World champion in figure skating, a wonderful coach, smart and beautiful, and recently also a mother - all this is her, Maria Butyrskaya. Her sports career could be the envy of many athletes; hundreds of parents dream of their children training under her guidance. Today the champion’s main concern is her son, born in mid-April, although Masha successfully combines both maternal and professional responsibilities. In an interview with our magazine, Maria and her husband, hockey player Vadim Khomitsky, talked about how the pregnancy proceeded and what surprises they had to face during this important period in the life of every family.

People meet in different ways. For some, the first meeting turns out to be bright and memorable, while for others, the relationship develops gradually, imperceptibly at first, and then it suddenly turns out that a new couple has formed. How did this happen for you?
Maria:
Vadim and I didn’t have anything particularly romantic, just like love at first sight. Theoretically, we could have collided on the ice, but we met among friends in a restaurant. True, Vadim is like a man with a real masculine fighting spirit! character immediately began to show me signs of attention. And it was very nice.
Maria, pregnancy and active sports are not easy to combine. How did you feel when you learned that you would soon become a mother?
Maria:
When I found out I was pregnant, I naturally had to give up a lot of my work. Although by this time I had already left big sport, there were still previously signed contracts that I had to refuse. This, for example, happened with the “Dancing on Ice” program on Channel Two. The situation was not the easiest, because I am a responsible person and do not like to let people down. As a partner, I got rock musician Sergei Galanin, who skated for the first time in his life. In general, among all the project participants, only one Peter Krasilov studied as a child figure skating. It was harder for me than for other athletes, since I had always been a “single skater” and had no experience of skating in pairs. In addition, Sergei, being a creative person, is not used to daily hard training, without which it is generally impossible to achieve anything in sports. It was very difficult for us to adjust to each other, and when this finally happened, I found out about my pregnancy. Of course, I immediately told my husband about this, but the thought of stopping participation in the program never occurred to me. After all, what the artists learned to do on ice in a few months is just a program initial training, which is mastered by kids who have just started figure skating. There were no difficult jumps or other figures, and the area of the skating rink did not allow for high speed. Therefore, I was full of desire to work in the program to the end. But then Vadim suddenly intervened
And what were the consequences of this intervention?
Vadim: Masha was dissatisfied with them. Having learned that we were going to have a child, I thought that, despite the low loads, this was still training, especially with a non-professional partner, and a mistake was possible that would affect the well-being of Masha and the baby. I decided to have a confidential conversation with the director of the Dancing on Ice program: I explained the situation to him and asked him to arrange for Maria to finish her performance. The couple was deliberately given the lowest scores and ended up performing in this project. Well, immediately after that, all the newspapers wrote that Masha was pregnant. We didn't experience the best pleasant sensations after all, the conversation was private. But, on the other hand, I tried to protect my wife and child, so I think that Masha’s departure from the show was the right decision.
Was your reluctance to advertise the future addition to the family due to some kind of superstition? After all, many women keep their pregnancy a secret from everyone except their loved ones until it becomes obvious. Although you have a black cat who constantly crosses the road. So do you believe in any signs associated with expecting a child?
Maria:
No, we don’t believe in omens, we just didn’t plan to tell the whole country about our personal life. And so we purchased almost the entire dowry before the baby was born, right down to children’s furniture. We bought strollers, a bathtub, and many other necessary things at Kangaroo: we really like the combination of price and quality of goods and level of service. Almost all the clothes were given to us. However, you don’t need a lot of it, because kids grow so quickly. For the very first time, I generally bought from “ Children's world“Several cotton and flannelette diapers, and that turned out to be quite enough. Then we mostly went to the store for diapers. The only thing we didn't have was an envelope. I had my eye on the one I liked, but I didn’t have time to buy it myself, and when Vadim wanted to do it, it was no longer available. My close friend, who became our son’s godmother, came to the rescue and gave me a very beautiful envelope just for discharge.

Vadim, how did you feel when you found out that you were going to become a dad?
Vadim:
Of course I was incredibly happy. The only thing that darkened my joy was the need to urgently fly to America: contract deadlines were running out. But, as soon as the opportunity arose, I immediately returned to Masha.
Did you want a boy or a girl?
Vadim:
To be honest, we didn't care. The main thing is that the child is born healthy. The first ultrasound did not allow us to find out the sex of the baby, but more later it became clear that it was a boy. We were very happy, although we would have been just as happy about a girl.
You gave birth at the Family Planning and Reproduction Center. Why did you choose him?
Vadim.
Many of Masha’s good friends had children born at the Central Children’s Hospital, and all the new parents vying with each other recommended this particular maternity hospital. They “infected” us, speaking especially admiringly of the chief physician of the Center for Pedagogical and Rural Development, Mark Arkadyevich Kurtser.
Maria: And now, having already given birth to a child, I also want to say my most sincere words of gratitude to Mark Arkadyevich for all the care and attention that was provided to us in this medical institution. I was registered in a private paid clinic, and a few weeks before giving birth she came on an “excursion” to the Planning Center. I liked the atmosphere, the doctors, and the recommendations of my friends had an influence; after all, personal impressions mean a lot. In general, we signed a contract and began to wait for our son to decide to be born.
It was quite a long journey for you to travel to TsPSiR from Khimki
Vadim:
We moved to Khimki after the birth of the child, and before that we lived on Krasnoproletarskaya. Although this is also not close. Luckily for us, the contractions began as if ordered, at 4 a.m.: early morning, almost night, not a single car. In general, we happily avoided traffic jams that time.
Maria: I have something to tell you about traffic jams. I came to my doctor Natalya Nikolaevna Zimina for a consultation on Friday evenings, around 18:19. It took 2 or 3 hours to get from the city center to Sevastopolsky Avenue. It’s not easy to stand in a traffic jam for so long without a belly, let alone with a belly In general, Vadim violated everything possible, sometimes driving around the traffic jam even in the oncoming lane. In general, when traffic cops stopped us, I told them: “Look at me. Do you want me to give birth right here? I will do it. Write a protocol if you know how to deliver a child!” They let us go. I understand, of course, that it is necessary to follow the rules, but, unfortunately, on our roads this is not always possible.
Did you go together to give birth?
Vadim:
I insisted on having a joint birth. Masha was against it at first, but then agreed.
Maria: Vadim was with me during the contractions, but left at the very moment the baby was born. I think there is no need to look at this; at such a moment, only the presence of professionals is necessary. But while the “preparatory period” lasts, the husband’s support, even if purely psychological, is very important. You understand that you are not alone, that your loved one is with you, that he is worried in the same way, that there is someone to complain about pain and fear And a man, when he himself takes part in the birth process, understands that giving birth to a child is far away not easy.

Were you scared?
Maria:
When we arrived at the maternity hospital, we were immediately placed in a box. But while we were walking to it, I heard other women screaming loudly, and I thought: “Am I really going to scream like that?” And then I cried all the time because everything lasted too long. The waters broke, but still no contractions. We agreed that Natalya Nikolaevna would come at 8 o’clock. Apparently, there was an agreement with the staff that they would not do anything with me until she arrived. They didn’t touch me, they only asked me several times if my water had broken. Then we both really wanted to sleep. There was such a narrow couch in the box, we somehow lay down on it and, apparently, fell asleep from excitement. The light is not on, no one is bothering us We were woken up by Natalya Nikolaevna, who looked into the room and said that daddies were actually not supposed to lie here. Made us blush.
When did you see your son for the first time?
Maria:
They showed it to me right away. Such a small squeaking lump!..
Vadim: While Masha was giving birth, I was very worried. I couldn’t sit still, I just walked quickly and quickly along the corridor from corner to corner. And when I heard the child scream, he immediately calmed down. He was taken out of the birth box already swaddled. When I saw these crescent-shaped eyebrows, I immediately thought: “The spitting image of Masha.” And they immediately gave me to hold him in my arms. This is such an unforgettable experience! After all, literally a few minutes ago he was not there and now he is already here, and you can hug him and talk to him.
You probably immediately took a photo of your son?
Vadim:
No, we didn’t want to film childbirth and the first minutes of life. But now, of course, we have accumulated more than one album of photographs and more than one cassette that captured our child.
Now some parents refuse vaccinations given to children after birth.
Maria:
In this matter, I completely trust the doctors. If you need any vaccinations, it is of course better to get them, so as not to bite your elbows later.
Did you manage to establish breastfeeding right away?
Maria:
It turned out that feeding a child is not so easy. For some reason, everyone thinks that the main thing is to give birth, and then everything will somehow work out on its own. But in reality this is not so. Of course, the visiting nurse came and showed and told everything. But at first it still hurt. Then, of course, I got used to it, and I gained experience. True, now we have almost completely switched to mixtures.
You hear a lot about the whims of pregnant women. How did you manage to deal with them?
Vadim:
Yes, Masha had absolutely no whims. The character did not change at all, although I know that this happens quite often in pregnant women.
Maria: Throughout my entire pregnancy, I only once had the desire to immediately eat something specific. I saw an ad on TV for a Big Mac from McDonald's and realized that if I didn't get it immediately, I would feel very bad. Vadik was in America at that time, and Oksana Kazakova lived with me during the filming of the “Dancing on Ice” project. She was just supposed to arrive, so I called her and asked her to buy this unfortunate bun with a cutlet on the way. And so I went into the store, looked around the shelves and thought: what do I want? Of course, during pregnancy I began to eat much more than before; I decided not to limit myself to anything. And I gained as much as 20 kg! I think that next time I will still be more “modest”. Although now, I’m sure, the weight will quickly return to normal: after all, since July I have returned to coaching.
Vadim NHL player, and you had the opportunity to give birth in America. Why didn't you use it?
Maria:
I have many friends who have the opportunity to go to any country for childbirth, but they chose to give birth in Russia. I talked to different people, because the opinion of friends and acquaintances who have already become parents is very valuable on such an important issue, especially when you are expecting your first child. There are probably good doctors in America, but if we have our own excellent specialists, does it make sense to exchange them for strangers?
How do you manage to cope without a nanny?
Maria:
So far so good. Vadim helps a lot when he is at home. But after the start of classes, something will need to be decided. Coaching work is daily, children constantly need attention, you need to monitor everything. Therefore, I think I will definitely have an assistant.
Why did you decide to preserve stem cells and use the services of the Cryocenter?
Maria:
At the Planning Center, I picked up the Cryocenter brochures to read, then talked with several acquaintances. Some of them also retained their cells. True, no one could specifically answer the question of why this is needed and whether they advise doing this. But if in this moment There is such an opportunity, why not take advantage of it? And Vadim and I decided to preserve the stem cells because this can only be done once. Moreover, the doctor advised me to contact the Cryocenter and gave me a contact phone number. That's how we became their clients.
Maria, what impressions do you have from pregnancy and the birth process itself?
Maria:
I don't have any negative emotions left. I would gladly go through this again. Pregnancy turned out to be more difficult for me personally, especially last weeks: The baby was pushing a lot, it was very difficult to bend over. Although I continued to train children until they were 8 months old and went out on the ice to skate. Only in the last 23 weeks I could no longer lace my shoes, so I didn’t skate, I just walked. Of course, I didn’t make any jumps or complex movements, but exercise stress Mine was big enough. As for social events, I practically didn’t go anywhere, because people around me constantly wanted to take pictures of me, and it was inconvenient to refuse. Once I came to my friend’s store opening in full regalia, wearing high-heeled shoes. And although the heels were stable, it was not easy for me to stay on them.
Where did you dress during pregnancy?
Maria:
I've only had one or two new ones and it's gone. I bought one evening dress because I went to New Year to Vadim in Switzerland. And besides that, I bought just one shorts and pants, and also a shirt, but in a regular store, just a few sizes larger. Actually, I continued to work throughout my pregnancy, so a tracksuit was enough for me. I probably wouldn’t refuse something that hides the flaws of my figure and emphasizes all its advantages during pregnancy. And I had no desire to look like a bombshell in a shapeless dress.
Many women try not to visit a beauty salon during the 9 months of pregnancy. How did you take care of yourself?
Maria:
Certainly. I dyed my hair and had manicures and pedicures, although less often than before pregnancy. Still, I was very tired, I constantly wanted to sleep, so it was hard for me to spend the whole day in the salon. So I “stretched out the pleasure” over several visits. I believe that a woman should always remain a woman - beautiful, well-groomed, enjoying life. Then life will be easy and interesting for her baby, her loved ones, and herself.

Maria Viktorovna Butyrskaya. Born on June 28, 1972 in Moscow. Russian figure skater, Honored Master of Sports. The first Russian world champion in women's single skating.

She has a younger brother. Soon after his birth, Maria's parents divorced.

She started skating at the age of 5. Started studying in sports club"Vympel" Leningradsky district of Moscow.

Then she studied at CSKA. Since childhood, Maria has become accustomed to independence - at the age of seven she went to training herself. “Mom had to work a lot, and I was a very independent little athlete. By seven in the morning I went to CSKA from Strogino, I left the house like clockwork - ten minutes to six. Transport had to be changed three times, so training, in fact, began long before how I got to the skating rink,” she recalled.

Maria Butyrskaya's first coach, Elena Vodorezova, considered her a very talented and hardworking child; Maria was the best in the group and won all children's competitions.

But a few years later, the coach went on maternity leave and Maria ended up in the group of another coach, with whom the relationship did not work out - Galina Vasilkevich. As a result, the latter declared Maria unpromising and insisted that the girl be expelled from the CSKA figure skating school.

Butyrskaya herself told about that story: “Sometimes I couldn’t bring myself to call her a coach. This woman, Vasilkevich Galina Borisovna, could change my destiny. You know, she got a very good job at CSKA. She didn’t want to work, but her salary was regularly dripping. But on Saturdays she canceled training. She said: take a rest, guys, go out of town or to the country. But at 15, on the contrary, you need to work more!.. In short, I was indignant, and then we just hated each other. I was expelled for obstinacy, and they wrote - “unpromising". By the way, before that I trained with Elena Vodorezova, who believed that I had good potential. But Elena Germanovna went on maternity leave, and I ended up with Vasilkevich. You should spit on people like her from a high tower, trample them underfoot and move on - towards your goal."

After being expelled, Maria did not skate for several months, lost faith in herself and gained excess weight. When the first mentor found out about this, she convinced her beloved student to continue skating, and got Masha into Vladimir Kovalev’s group. And in 1991, Maria moved to the famous coach Viktor Nikolaevich Kudryavtsev.

Maria noted that she owed her excellent skating and jumping technique to Viktor Nikolaevich. But collaboration with the famous Soviet coach Elena Tchaikovskaya helped Maria achieve success. Maria believes that it was Elena Anatolyevna who helped her gain self-confidence and believe that she could become a world and European champion and find her own individual “ballet” style. Maria's programs were also notable for their frequent use of classical music.

At the 1999 World Championships, Maria won a gold medal, making the final chord of Russia's triumph in this competition (four gold medals out of four). Butyrskaya became the first world champion in the history of post-Soviet Russia.

In the same season, Butyrskaya became second in the 1998-1999 Grand Prix final, ahead of Tatyana Malinina from Uzbekistan.

She recalled about the triumphant year 1999 for herself: “It was a very good year for me. I won almost everything possible - Russian and European championships, other competitions. Only in the Grand Prix final I was second. In Helsinki, my main rival there was multiple world champion Michelle Kwan from the USA.
